How we feature people
The guides, veterans and partners on this site are real people who trust us with their name. Here is the promise we keep.
We ask first.
No one gets a public page until they have said yes. We email you a private link to see your page and approve it. Until then a profile is a private draft that only our staff can see.
We show only what is public or what you give us.
A short bio, your credentials, and links you choose. LinkedIn and Instagram show only if you say so. Veterans: your branch and years of service show only after you approve them.
Students are never profiled.
Students do not get profile pages and cannot be searched for or tagged. In stories we use a student’s first name only, and only when a parent has signed a media release.
News links are links, not copies.
When an article is about you, we show its title, the outlet and a link. We never copy the article. Each one is checked by a person on our team before it appears.
You can step back at any time.
From your private link you can hide your page whenever you like, remove yourself from a story, or tell us you would rather not be featured. Your name then shows in stories as plain text, with no link.
